YotaPhone 2 arriving this week, dual

We probably liked the first-generation YotaPhone in theory more than we did in practice, but credit to the Russians for at least trying something different.

Putin's (presumably) favourite smartphone manufacturer is back at it again with the logically named YotaPhone 2, its second attempt at the dual-screen thing, and it's touching down this week. Got a spare £550?

The YotaPhone 2 is described as 'The phone with two fronts'. More specifically, it's an AMOLED display on the actual front (y'know, the main display) and an e-ink screen on the back.

Even more specifically, the front panel is 5in 1080p, while the rear measures 4.7in - both protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

The major change over the first-gen YotaPhone is a full touch e-ink display, the former chap having a touch strip below the rear screen only. Now you can access the full Android UI from the back, too.

Further YotaPhone 2 specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, 4G LTE connectivity, and 8MP/2.1MP cameras.

The obvious downsides with the YotaPhone 2 are the lack of microSD for external storage, and the fact that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 is now a few generations old.

If you still fancy it, you can grab the YotaPhone 2 for €699 - that's roughly £550 in our money, which immediately puts 'The phone with two fronts' on a price par with the iPhone 6, eek.
