Apple is turning red in order to launch its biggest fundraising push yet.

Because of their partnership with (RED), an organization dedicated to fight aids, Apple will change the color of its logo to red around the world on Dec. 1, World AIDS Day.

A store in Sydney was the first to turn red. Other stores in Japan, Hong Kong, China, Europe and the United States will do so according to their time zone.

Aside from the color change, Apple will also be helping (RED) raise money through the App Store and sales on Apple products.

From Nov. 24 to Dec. 7, Apple will be hosting a special section on their App Store with 25 apps sponsored by (RED). All proceeds from those apps will go to The Global Fund to fight AIDS.

A percentage of every sale made on Cyber Monday, Dec. 1, both in retail and online, will also go to The Global Fund.

Apple started its instore (RED) campaign on Black Friday when it gave customers a special edition (RED) iTunes gift card with purchase of selected products.

'Apple is a proud supporter of (RED) because we believe the gift of life is the most important gift anyone can give,' said Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, in a press release. 'For eight years, our customers have been helping fight AIDS in Africa by funding life-saving treatments, which are having a profoundly positive feedback.'

(RED) was created by Bono and Bobby Shriver, and with the partnership with Apple alone, it has gathered donated over $75 million to The Global Fund. In total, the organization has gathered over $275 million. Their vision is to have an AIDS-free generation.

Some of the apps participating in the campaign are Angry Birds, Heads Up, Clash of Clans and Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.
