Google's Chrome Remote Desktop for Android lets you access Macs and PCs ...


Following reports that Google was beta testing a Chrome Remote Desktop app for mobile devices, an official Android app has finally launched.


Chrome Remote Desktop is Google's three-year-old web app that lets you browse another computer from your computer. The app works with Windows (XP and above) and Mac (OS X 10.6 and above) desktops, through the Chrome browser or Chromebooks. And now the same type of setup is available for Android, letting you browse a computer from your Android device.


To get started, just enable your Windows or Mac desktops for remote access through the Chrome Remote Desktop app. Then download and launch the new Chrome Remote Desktop app for Android onto your mobile device. Once it finishes loading, tap on your computer name. You'll then be able to access and browse that computer from your Android device.

The Chrome Remote Desktop app for Android is now available in Google's Play Store. It requires Android 4.0 and up. Oh, and Google said you can expect an iOS version of the app to release later this year.
