Mobile device makers are introducing a steady stream of smartwatches in hopes of finding the right combination of design and features that will make them a hit with buyers. Companies large and small have become interested enough in the emerging smartwatch market to test the waters with their own devices. There are other companies that have yet to enter the space, but are expected to introduce new products in the coming months. All of this market activity, along with continuing research on consumer demand, makes analysts believe that smartwatches will become more popular in next few years. In fact, the predictions are that heavy demand for such devices is expected to kick off in late 2014 and continue for years to come. The debate continues over whether smartwatches will soon become as popular as the analysts predict. It's increasingly clear that smartwatches are starting to grab buyers' attention. That makes this as good a time as any to evaluate what's on the market now and what is reportedly coming soon to give potential buyers some idea of what devices might be worth taking a closer look at.
