iPhone users beware, you cannot recharge your phone by sticking it in the microwave.
The ever-present collective of internet pranksters, 4-chan, has done it again, according to Mashable.
On Wednesday, the 4-chan group of internet sleuths banded together to create a slick-looking ad that suggested Apple's new operating system, iOS 8, was so advanced that you could 'wave charge your device by placing it within a household microwave for a minute and a half.'
The ad also cautioned users not to 'wave-charge' for more than 300 seconds.

With every release of a new Apple product, the company's fandom is countered by an equally strong force of internet trolls.
iPhones are waterproof, the ads would announce. Its camera can see through clothes, they would proclaim. More recently, iPhone 6's are infected with Ebola.
for a more even #wavecharge, submerge the phone in a glass of water before placing it in the microwave - Jon Pierce (@jaypeers)September 18, 2014
This too, was a recycled idea; ads suggesting that you can recharge your phone in a microwave have been around for years.
In case you were thinking no one could be stupid enough to stick a phone in a microwave.
I can't believe people are falling for and believing in wave charge .. Seriously?! 🙈 #iOS8#wavecharge#apple - Liam Donbavand ™ (@LiamJEDonbavand)September 19, 2014
The Twittersphere has already reported its first apparent victim.
I tried using the new IOS 8 feature WAVE where you can charge your phone with a microwave, does not work @http://ift.tt/1v0o59C - rizarul DelRey (@rizarul)September 22, 2014
And it has not wasted any time tailoring the ad to another Apple moment.
