It's been 25 years since Mazda introduced the world to the Miata, which went on to become the best-selling two-seater sports car of all time, selling more than 940,000 cars worldwide.

Last night, Mazda revealed their brand new version of the fourth-generation model to enthusiasts in Monterey, Calif., Spain and Japan.

Because the release of the much-anticipated classic is still over a year away, details regarding specs and price have not yet been divulged, but Mazda has said this Miata will be over 200 pounds lighter than its predecessor.

Mazda also will incorporate its SkyActiv engine technology, making the vehicle more efficient.

Check out the design for yourself. You'll notice Mazda hasn't deviated much from the iconic style of the Miata, but still making modernized updates.
