HTC One M8 Max Specifications Get Leaked

The HTC One M8 Max looks to be back, just a few months after the reputable and accurate @evleaks (since retired from leaking) had reported that plans to release a higher-end and larger version of the original One M8 had fallen through. According to a report from MyDrivers, it looks like HTC has a large phablet cooked up after all, with specs that could give the iPhone 6 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 a run for their money.

While the original HTC One Max, released late last year, was not a bad device, it did get some criticism for being hardly different from the HTC One M7, save for the larger display. It was also scored because many felt its 5.9-inch display was just overkill. MyDrivers, however, claims the HTC One M8 Max will be different, and its leaked specs point to a device that should be very strong fundamentally, and even stronger than the M8 that got released this spring.

These specs reportedly include a 5.5-inch display with 2560 x 1440 Quad HD resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor paired with 3 GB RAM, Android L out of the box, and what looks to be an 18-megapixel rear camera and a 3,000 mAh battery. Impressive, right? Those specs sure are, but the device also looks to come with some standout features, such as Optical Image Stabilization, and presumably a number of special features through the Sense 6.5 user experience. Also, we think the HTC One M8 Max won't be complete without BoomSound stereo speakers in front.

Long story short - the first HTC One Max may have been merely satisfactory, but the HTC One M8 Max (or One M8 Eye?) should see to it that the company will have a legit challenger to the Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus in the phablet space, and one that isn't just an elongated version of the present-day flagship.
