Local gas prices fall 3 cents a gallon, AAA says

The average price for gas in Massachusetts was $3.67 a gallon in the latest weekly AAA survey, down 3 cents from the previous week's average, AAA Southern New England said Monday.


The current Massachusetts price is a penny more than the national average of $3.66 a gallon. The current Massachusetts price is 3 cents higher than it was a month ago.

Last year at this time, the Massachusetts average was $3.48 a gallon, or 19 cents lower.


In the latest weekly AAA survey, Massachusetts gas had a price range of 44 cents, from a low of $3.45 to a high of $3.89, AAA Southern New England said.


The weekly surveys focus on the price of self-serve, regular unleaded gas.
