A few weeks after announcing plans to launch the HTX 8XT this summer, Sprint finally attached a drop date to the midrange Windows 8 phone, the carrier's first with Microsoft's updated OS.

Starting July 19, Sprint customers can pick up the HTC 8XT (blessedly not called the HTC Windows Phone 8XT like its older cousin). Featuring a 4.3-inch display, 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm 400 processor, and 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, the mid-tier 8XT also balances it only 8GB internal storage with a memory card slot capable of carrying an extra 64GB of ROM.

The handset also has 1GB RAM and a 1,800mAh battery.

The phone, which very closely resembles the original HTC Windows Phone 8X for Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T, costs $99.99 with a new, two-year service agreement and a $50 mail-in rebate that customers will get in the form of a rewards card.

Sprint's other hook to reel in customers? Its unlimited 4G LTE, of course.
