How to download large files with your blackberry device through UCweb

Downloading files with your BlackBerry device is quite fun and easy, you can download any file easily just like on pc.

Apart from using blackberryphones as modems to browse on pc, blackberry phones can also be used to download large files that can not be downloaded on a pc with slow network connection. Most internet cafes these days have slow network connections that it may even take up to 10minutes just to load a page, why waste time on cafes downloading a 143MB file that usually takes about 4hours to complete. That's a major issue down here in Rivers state you can hardly find a good cafe with fast internet connection.

Well let's get to the main point while I created this article, blackberry phones do come with a default web browser which can (in some circumstances) be compared to that of pc browsers, through this web browser you can download files of any sort or size supposing you have a large external storage (memory stick). Opera Mini can also be used to download large files, although for me it seems a bit slow, so I only download simple files using opera mini, but the major problems with using both opera mini and the BB default browser for download is because your download might get cut off in an area with low or no network coverage, if your downloads gets cut off; that's it! It can't be resumed, you then need to restart it from the very beginning, that's quite annoying and even more annoying if you were downloading a large file.

Using UCweb browser for downloads changes everything because unlike opera your downloads can be resumed from the previous point it got cut off while downloading. For instance you were downloading a movie of 83MB file size, and your battery got drained or your phone gets switched off mistakenly, after re booting your BB device open up your UCweb browser- options- file- downloads- click on the file a list pops up asking if you wish to restart, resume, or cancel your download. Your file gets paused automatically each time there is an interruption with the network on your device, all you need do is resume your download and that's all. Better than restarting your downloads right?
