The Metamorphosis of Kelman to Katalyst
What began in 1966 as Kelman Technologies Inc. (KTI), a geophysical data processing firm based in Canada, developed into an industry leader in diversified data services. Axiom assisted in the company’s rebranding initiatives, including the renaming to Katalyst, a new positioning line (“Unleash Your Data’s Potential”), a new corporate website (www.katalystdm.com), and a marketing campaign that was launched at SEG 2012 in Las Vegas. Over the previous two years, the company acquired the respected Oil Data Transcription Service from Houston-based Iron Mountain, then sold its seismic data processing business – including the rights to the Kelman name – to Fugro of the Netherlands, prompting the change to a new name for the parent company. Currently headquartered in Houston, Katalyst is synonymous with cutting-edge, end-to-end data management solutions for the oil and gas industry.
