The Game Awards 2014 Rumors and Reveals: As many as 18 debuts from ...

Like it or not, The Game Awards 2014 is here. Without getting into the many controversies from past years or the odd evolution of the Video Game Awards into The Game Awards this year, let's all stop and recognize the real value here -- new game announcements. Yes, The Game Awards 2014 is teasing as many as 18 game reveals. That's a mix of new game announcements and looks at upcoming games. Love it or hate it, everyone should be excited for The Game Awards 2014.

Rumors are sadly rather quiet this year. However, there have already been a surprising number of confirmations leading into the event tonight. Seven games are officially confirmed to either be debuting or showing new footage. That leaves over ten mystery games which we known nothing about. While none of those mysteries will end up being Fallout 4, odds are there should be something special for every gamer.

The Game Awards 2014 begins at 6:00pm PST later today, but until then here's a collection of the confirmed, rumored and debunked titles being talked about. Don't anyone mention The Last Guardian around me, please.

Confirmed

No Man's Sky - Announced by name in The Game Awards 2014's hype trailer released recently. However, Geoff Keighley also put out a tweet mentioning that Sean Murray of Hello Games will be taking the stage. That, in addition to this Vine teaser showing No Man's Sky's logo in motion. What could it mean?

Bloodborne - Announced by name during The Game Awards 2014's hype trailer. Also mentioned in a Keighley tweet stating that fans will be getting a 'new look' at Bloodborne . Though it's unclear whether the trailer will feature gameplay, be cinematic, or update us on development.

The Order: 1886 - Another PlayStation 4 exclusive title to be shown during The Video Game Awards 2014. Said by name during The Game Awards 2014's hype trailer and mentioned in the same Keighley tweet as Bloodborne . Expect the same 'new look' as well.

Adrift - Adam Orth's space metaphor about how social media cost him so much will be debuting during The Video Game Awards 2014. Confirmed via the recent hype trailer for the awards show.

Metal Gear Online - The first officially confirmed game to be announced at The Game Awards 2014, there's still much mystery to Metal Gear Online. Is it attached to Metal Gear Solid V? Will it be free-to-play? Kojima is in the house to show off his new, exciting project. Confirmed by Sony executives, Geoff Keighley and the official Metal Gear Twitter as well.

The Witcher III: Wild Hunt - We've already seen a ton of The Witcher III gameplay by this point, but more never hurts. We'll see what CD Projekt RED has in store later tonight. Confirmed via the official hype trailer for the awards.

King's Quest - Developers of the The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom , The Odd Gentlemen are making a new King's Quest adventure game. The game will be debuting during tonight's show as part of a retrospective look at the King's Quest franchise and Roberta Williams. Officially confirmed by the developers.

Other Stuff:

Rumors

Batman: Arkham Knight - During the very first trailer announcing The Game Awards 2014 a face snuck into clips that gamers had yet to see -- the Scarecrow's face from Batman: Arkham Knight. Considering Rocksteady Games has announced each of their titles at the Spike Video Game Awards in past years, it's an almost certainty that Arkham Knight will be making an appearance.

Street Fighter V - It's an unfortunate thing when a big game announcement gets leaked before it was planned to be unveiled, but here we are again with Street Fighter V. A trailer was shown for the new fighting game, but it's unclear if it was meant for The Game Awards 2014 or for Sony's PlayStation Experience keynote tomorrow. The game is confirmed, the announcement at The Game Awards 2014 is the rumor.

Deus Ex Universe - Square Enix has just recently started making a buzz around Eidos Montreal's next Deus Ex project. The 'Dawn Engine' was unveiled just yesterday, an engine dedicated to future 'Deus Ex Universe' projects. Odds are that's not the title of the game they're working on, but maybe it is? With the Dawn Engine details and the Deus Ex Twitter account getting a polish and flurry of activity just this week, human augmentation may be back on the menu at The Game Awards 2014.

Dragon's Dogma Online - Here's another title that's got a lot of oddly-timed buzz surrounding it. Why would the official Dragon's Dogma Facebook get an update asking what fans might think about a sequel just this week? Why would a trademark be filed for 'Dragon's Doma Online' just this week? Maybe that's because Capcom's got a sequel announcement planned for unveiling at tonight's The Game Awards 2014.

Uncharted 4 - Neil Druckman of Naughty Dog tweeted about how he had just watched something special to be unveiled at The Game Awards 2014. With Uncharted well into development, odds are we'll be seeing more of the older Nathan Drake in action. Dare we bet on gameplay?

EA Announcement by Peter Moore - Peter Moore has revealed that he'll be going on-stage to announce a new EA project in the works. There's a secondary, but heavily unverified rumor stemming from a 4chan post by a self-described fired Ghost Games veteran. He says that Underground: Need for Speed will be unveiled at The Game Awards 2014, a reboot of the Underground franchise of racing games. I have a hard time imagining EA going to this award show and not showing something Star Wars, though.

Nintendo - Nintendo has confirmed their presence at The Game Awards 2014, along with Reggie Fils-Amie's attendence. They haven't teased anything specific, but they have created a Youtube playlist specifically for the event. It's currently empty beyond the awards' announcement trailer. What this implies, however, is multiple reveals from Nintendo at the event. Look out for trailers from some of their big upcoming games.

Debunked

- In all of the speculation about what EA will be announcing at the event, insider shinobi602 confirmed that the game shown will not be either Mass Effect's next release nor Titanfall 2.

Fallout 4 - Bethesda has used the VGA awards in the past to announce announce . After it was revealed that they'd be attending the event, rumors swirled that they might have something to debut. However, they were quick to silence one rumor in particular -- Fallout 4 will not be shown at The Game Awards 2014. Nor will any Bethesda games be shown, actually. The team's simply going to support MachineGames and Wolfenstein .

Microsoft - Perhaps due to the oddly close relationship between The Game Awards 2014 and the PlayStation Experience conference both going on this weekend in Vegas, Microsoft will not be showing anything at this year's event.
