Microsoft to Reveal Windows 10 Consumer Preview in January

Microsoft might be launching the consumer preview of its upcoming Windows 10 operating system in January next year, according to American tech art and science news portal The Verge.
Microsoft will be attending the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES), an international consumer electronics trade show held annually in January in Las Vegas. CES 2015 will run from Jan. 6-9.

However, Microsoft will not be launching the Windows 10 beta during the CES. According to The Verge, the tech firm will launch the operating system's beta during its own conference in the later part of Jan. 2015.
Microsoft will be unveiling the consumer features of the operating system, including a new touch interface called 'Continuum,' said The Verge.
During Microsoft's after-CES conference, it will also be announcing its plans for the future line of its Windows smartphones and tablets, and an update for the Xbox One's dashboard, said The Verge.
The Verge also noted that Windows 10 will be able to run across all supported Windows devices, including its Xbox One console, Lumia phones, tablets and the desktop PC.
The Redmond-based technology firm unveiled the newest operating system with its business features in an event held in San Francisco in September.
Windows 8, the predecessor of the upcoming OS, was not well received by consumers. Technology news site PCMag reported that there are more Windows XP users than Windows 8 users, with the former at 28.98-percent market share (only next to Windows 7) and the latter at a measly 6.66-percent share.
