LG, Google enter into patent cross

LG has announced that it has entered into a long-term patent licensing agreement with Google. This agreement will cover broad range of products and technologies, noted LG in a press release.

According to the company, as part of the agreement, both LG and Google will have access to each-other's existing patents as well as those filed in the next ten years. There is no word on the exact duration of this agreement, but it is at least a decade.

'We're pleased to enter into this agreement with a leading global technology company like LG. By working together on cross-licenses like this, companies can focus on bringing great products and services to consumers around the world,' said Allen Lo, deputy general counsel for patents at Google.

This patent deal will help both the firms in keeping the patent trolls away. To remind you, Google has a similar agreement with Samsung, which was signed in January this year.
