The big hairy problem with the new iPhone

Long-haired and bearded iPhone 6 users say their luscious locks are getting caught in their iPhones and being yanked when making calls.

Dubbed #Hairgate on Twitter, this first world phenomenon occurs when individual hairs get caught in a small space between the phone's glass screen and its aluminium body, then rips them out.

Pain-stricken users have taken to Twitter to complain:

OMG I just lost a chunk of hair after the Iphone 6 came to life and ripped it out...#idiotgate #hairgate same thing.

Anyone else getting beard hairs pulled by the iPhone 6/Plus? It catches my scruff in the seam and yanks it during calls. #hurts #beardgate

The seam on my iPhone 6 where the aluminum meets the glass is definitely catching my hair and pulling it out. #seamgate

If you are looking to buy iPhone 6 you better be bald and clean-shaven(all time) . #HairGate

This isn't the first flaw users have complained about - remember #Bendgate?

Just days after the iPhone 6 was released last month, customers complained the iPhone 6 could easily bend in your pocket after sitting down.

For iPhone 6 customers, #thestruggleisreal.

#HairGate manufacturing error? This is more serious than a phone bending IMO

No hair. No problem. #HairGate http://ift.tt/Z56K2X

Others are less sympathetic:

I have been ripping out my hair for years with Microsoft ... it is only fitting that some Apple customers now have #Hairgate

People complaining of hair getting caught or ripped out on the new iPhones are idiots! Who rubs their phone on their beard? #HairGate
