iOS 8.1 Release on Oct. 20: Top Features Before the Upcoming

Apple released its first major update of the iOS 8.1 second beta version expected to have important features of the software not included in the initial release.

The iOS 8.1 main features are expected to be out in October after the Apple Mac and iPad event. Users waiting for the Pangu or Evad3rs teams to release the upcoming iPad and iPhone unlocker can make do with the iOS 8.1 killer features.

The iOS 8.1 is expected to deliver the Apple Pay and the Continuity feature that allow more interaction between OS X and iOS. The Touch ID feature for the new iPads and bug fixes are expected to come with the update.

Apple previously released two iOS 8.1 beta versions and still plans to release more software updates in the coming months: the iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3. iCloud drive isn't available for Mac and iOS 8 users but once Yosemite and iOS 8.1 are released, it should already be available.

As usual, the iOS 8.1 update brings a lot of bug and stability fixes which is important for the company this year. iOS 8 had many issues after its launch and following minor updates, Apple may need to fix these in iOS 8.1 to convince users to update to iOS 8.

iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users have reported performance problems with the iOS 8.

Meanwhile, an Evasi0n 7 creator posted on Twitter a warning to jailbreakers that if they update to iOS 8.0, they'll lose their jailbreak and won't be able to go back to 7.x.

It applies to iOS 8.1, as well, and jailbreak fans may want to wait for the iOS 8 jailbreak likely to be released this December.
