Google's Eric Schmidt Says Global Warming Skeptics Are 'Lying'; Does He ...

Google CEO Eric Schmidt recently called global warming skeptics liars. According to Thomas Lifson of the American Thinker:

Google, one of the richest and most powerful companies in the world, is doubling down on the theory that atmospheric CO2 is causing global temperatures to rise (even though they haven't for the last 17 years despite a large increase on CO2). Moreover, Google is withdrawing its financial support from a group, the American Legislative Exchange Council, which it supports on other grounds, because of that group's questioning of the climate change dogma whose models have failed to predict the last 17 years of evidence. Ars Technica reports:

Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt today said it was a 'mistake' to support the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a group that has said human-created climate change could be 'beneficial' and opposes environmental regulations. Schmidt said groups trying to cast doubt on climate change science are 'just literally lying.'

I find it very odd indeed that a technology-based company would reject scientific skepticism and attention paid to evidence that questions a hypothesis. That is not 'lying.' Google's server farms consume an enormous (and growing) amount of electricity, too. Something here doesn't make sense.

Is Schmidt engaged in what's called projection? Here is what some experts say about it:

Psychologists have a term for this nasty personality quirk of accusing others of the evil you do. It's called 'projection' and is defined as 'a defense mechanism that involved taking your own unacceptable qualities, feelings or actions and ascribing them to other people.' Also, 'a way to transfer guilt for your own thoughts, emotions and actions onto another as a way of not admitting your guilt to yourself.' David Kupelian, 'Obama's Perfect Crisis,' Whistleblower, January 2014, p.4.)

In this case, the brilliant scientific mind of Eric Schmidt says 'groups trying to cast doubt on climate change science are just literally lying.' Here is exactly why Eric Schmidt is lying. The ideology of global warming, now climate change, has nothing to do with carbon dioxide affecting the atmosphere's temperature. The ideology exists to protect a grand scheme to transfer fabulous riches to owners of renewable energy producers from all of the electricity users. This results in a highly regressive tax on all electricity users for no economic purpose other than to originate tax-paid income streams for these producers. Do you know what the Ivanpah solar power tower is? According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

A windy stretch of the Mojave Desert once roamed by tortoises and coyotes has been transformed by hundreds of thousands of mirrors into the largest solar power plant of its type in the world, a milestone for a growing industry that is testing the balance between wilderness conservation and the pursuit of green energy across the West.

The Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System, sprawling across roughly 5 square miles of federal land near the California-Nevada border, formally opens Thursday after years of regulatory and legal tangles ranging from relocating protected tortoises to assessing the impact on Mojave milkweed and other plants.

The $2.2 billion complex of three generating units, owned by NRG Energy Inc., Google Inc. and BrightSource Energy, can produce nearly 400 megawatts - enough power for 140,000 homes. It began making electricity last year....

Using technology known as solar-thermal, nearly 350,000 computer-controlled mirrors roughly the size of a garage door reflect sunlight to boilers atop 459-foot towers. The sun's power is used to heat water in the boilers' tubes and make steam, which drives turbines to create electricity....

Google announced in 2011 that it would invest $168 million in the project. As part of its financing, BrightSource also lined up $1.6 billion in loans guaranteed by the U.S. Energy Department....

Suppose I told you that this solar power tower could produce tens of millions of dollars of tax paid income every year while the sun shines? Looking at the financial terms, two points are critical. The $1.6 billion of loans are guaranteed by the federal government, and Google announced in 2011 that it would invest $168 million in the project. Because of the federal loan guarantees and the mandated purchases of Ivanpah renewable energy, Google could probably borrow its equity of $168 million and have effectively none of its own money invested in it. This would result in an infinite return on its equity from those tax paid income streams.

More 'truth' about Eric Schmidt from The Wall Street Journal:

Senate Majority PAC can take unlimited donations, which makes it an ideal campaign vehicle for Democratic billionaires. Nearly two-thirds of its $32 million have been contributions of $500,000 or more...

...and nearly $4 million in $250,000 gifts from the likes of trial lawyers (Peter Angelos, David Boies) and tech and media moguls (Google's Eric Schmidt, recording executive Jerry Moss.)

Now Eric Schmidt here proves that he is very, very interested in Harry Reid maintaining control of the United States Senate for six more years. He couldn't do anything better to confess with his pocketbook.

Oh, yes! Ownership of renewable energy facilities is the greatest payola scheme that has ever been foisted onto the American people.

And as we further convict Eric Schmidt of 'projection' by calling those who do not accept the ideology of climate change liars-look at this Wall Street Journal editorial titled 'Google Kills Birds' from September 26, 2014:

Our headline has the virtue of being true-as we will explain-unlike Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt 's assertion this week that people who oppose government subsidies for green energy are liars. The real charlatans are businesses like Google that use climate change as a pretext for corporate welfare....

Consider Google's pledge to fund over $1.5 billion in non fossil-fuel energy. Yet Google derives most of its energy from non-renewables on the grid because it says that 'while our data centers operate 24/7, most renewable energy sources don't....'

Also not a coincidence is that nearly all of Google's solar and wind farms are located in states with renewable-energy mandates, which create opportunities for politically mediated profit-making. For instance, California requires that renewables make up a third of electricity by 2020. Google has invested about $600 million in California's solar plants such as the Ivanpah system in California's Mojave Desert. Ivanpah is the world's largest solar-thermal project, which is the target of environmentalists....

The do-no-evil company has invested $157 million in a wind farm in California's Tehachapi Mountains, which has killed thousands of birds including federally protected golden eagles. Google's renewable portfolio includes a $275 million investment in two wind farms in Texas that are partly responsible for the construction of $7 billion in new transmission lines. The Texas Public Utility Commission estimates the lines will cost ratepayers on average $72 per year. Google has about $60 billion in cash and short-term investments sitting on its balance sheet.

Most of Google's renewable investments qualify for a federal investment tax credit that covers 30% of the cost. Its $450 million investment in rooftop solar-systems also benefits from state incentives such as 'net-metering' laws. This hidden subsidy compensates ratepayers for power they remit to the grid at the retail rate, which can be three times as much as the wholesale price of electricity. Net-metering allows solar companies to charge higher rates to homeowners who lease their panels, and thus for investors like Google to reap larger profits.

These extracts from the Wall Street Journal allude to Google's deep involvement in renewable energy. In our forthcoming special report, 'Cliven Bundy and Harry Reid's Future Fortune,' we will develop very specific estimates of probable tax-paid income streams arriving from solar power towers. When you see the amounts of money that Google could make from contributing lots of money to Harry Reid PAC, you will become absolutely certain that Eric Schmidt is lying about his reason for calling climate change deniers liars.
