PC MOBA Smite is coming to Xbox One

The MOBA revolution might finally make its way to console.

Microsoft announced during its Gamescom press conference today that Smite, the PC multiplayer online battle arena game, is coming to Xbox One. This will be the MOBA's first console release.

The free-to-play game is similar to other MOBAs, like League of Legends and Dota 2. Two teams of player-controlled heroes start on opposite sides of a map and battle through towers and minions on their way to destroy the other team's base. Its roster of heroes all come from different mythologies and religions, letting players take control of the likes of Thor, Ra, and Hades.

MOBAs have recently dominated the PC gaming landscape, but they haven't made much of an impact in the world of console gaming yet. Dota 2 and League of Legends have never had console ports.

We don't currently have a release date for Smite on Xbox One.
