The previously leaked G3 Stylus will be unveiled at IFA to with expectations of stealing the thunder from Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 announcement.

LG's accidentally leaked G3 Stylus will make its official appearance at the IFA tradeshow in Berlin, and the announcement timing is anything but coincidental.

The Korean manufacturer's main rival, Samsung, will be launching its next iteration of the popular Galaxy Note phablets, and LG is perhaps looking to steal the the thunder.

However, it appears that LG may have to work at that a little harder. The LG G3 Stylus doesn't quite have the chops to compete -- it packs mid-range hardware that will be hard-pressed to go up against the likely more powerful Galaxy Note.

The stylus-equipped LG phone packs a 5.5-inch qHD -- that's not the Quad HD resolution (2,560x1,440-pixels) of the higher-end LG G3 -- instead, it's just a measly 960x540-pixels resolution. Given the larger size of the display, this equates to a pretty low count of just 200 pixels per inch (ppi).

Furthermore, it's powered by what appears to be a lower-end quad-core processor that's clocked at just 1.3GHz. It will have 8GB of onboard storage and 1GB RAM.

On the positive side of things, the G3 Stylus does have a microSD card slot, and a 13-megapixel rear camera (though it lacks the laser autofocus of the G3). Many of the software features from the G3 are available on the G3 Stylus, including Knock Code and QuickMemo+.

The G3 Stylus will launch in Brazil in September, followed by countries in Asia, Africa, Middle East and the CIS regions. Pricing will be announced later at the local launches.
