LG announces the L Fino and L Bello: two new entry

Category: Android

Earlier today LG took the wraps off a couple of new entry-level smartphones running Android, both of which appear to be planned for a more elaborate unveiling at the IFA trade show in Berlin. The smartphones bear the monikers 'L Fino' and 'L Bello' respectively, and they seem to have been partially inspired by the successful LG G3 - at least as far as their design goes.

LG L Fino

Out of the two smartphones, the LG L Fino is the less powerful one. The handset features a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480, resulting in an underwhelming pixel density of 207 pixels per inch. Under the hood beats the heart of a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz per core, but as yet the SoC's brand and type remain unknown. The L Fino features 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage (hopefully expandable), and an 8 MP main camera complemented by a VGA shooter at the front. Last but not least, the smartphone is powered by a 1,900 mAh battery and runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. On top of the Android OS, LG included some of its UX features, such as Touch & Shoot, Selfie Mode as well as Knock Code.

LG L Bello

Much like the L Fino, the LG L Bello fits right into the low-end market segment. However, the Bello has a few aces up its sleeve when compared to its sibling, and sports a quad-core processor clocked at a frequency of 1.3 GHz, as opposed to 1.2 GHz.

The smartphone is equipped with a 5-inch IPS display featuring a resolution of 854 x 480, but despite the fact that the L Bello has a slightly higher resolution than the L Fino, the screen's increased dimensions actually bring the pixel density down to roughly 195 pixels per inch. In real life scenarios though, this small discrepancy will most likely go by unnoticed.

Moving on, the LG L Bello sports 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, an 8 MP main camera and a 1 MP front-facing sensor. The smartphone lacks LTE but it is compatible with 3G HSPA+. Everything is coordinated by the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system which is once again partially concealed by LG's proprietary user interface. Last but not least, the handset draws its energy from a generous 2,540 battery which should keep the lights on for a decent amount of time, given the low-end hardware specifications. The L Bello will also have a Quick Circle Case of its own, and the handset will be priced at € 189.

Both smartphones will be present at IFA in Berlin, where more details about the hardware, prices and availability should be revealed. Until that moment comes, feel free to leave a comment below and share your thoughts on LG's latest 'L' series.
