Spotify undergoes cross

Spotify has undergone a major design change and introduced new features courtesy of its latest update.

The music streaming service's new look, which goes live on iPhone, desktop, and the web today (April 2), consists of a black background and a darker theme.

The update also comes with new features in tow, including Your Music, which adds an additional area to the menu bar for saving albums and tracks to when there is no time to position them within playlists.

'Today we're launching the best-looking Spotify ever. Introducing a new darker theme, refreshed typography and rounded iconography, playing your favourite music has never looked so good,' said Spotify in a statement.

'We're not only improving our looks though. We know how much you love playlists, but that you've been looking for more ways of managing your music.

'So today we're introducing Your Music - helping you save, organise and browse your favourite music the way you want to. All in one place, and across all platforms.'

Spotify has also enhanced its Browse system to offer curated playlists based on various factors, such as the time of day, or day of the week. For instance, the service will deliver upbeat tunes to coincide with the arrival of the weekend.

The latest Spotify update will be introduced to other platform soon.
