Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft Launches Early On iPad

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft iPad soft launches in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Previously a PC game, this brings Blizzard's card battling experience to tablets.

Hearthstone is a collectible card game with turn-based mechanics. Online player vs. player challenges are between two opponents, and require a Blizzard's Battle.net account. There are a number of game modes, with different play styles to choose from.

You start the game with a collection of cards, and aim to earn rarer cards through purchasing additional packs (or as reward for progress). Players can also disenchant unwanted cards in exchange for arcane dust - that can be used to create new cards.

The card packs are purchased an in-game currency that is awarded for completing randomized daily quests and winning matches, or by using real money in the in-game store. Here lies the business model.

You can duel as a Mage (Jaina Proudmoore), Priest (Anduin Wrynn), Warlock (Gul'dan), Paladin (Uther the Lightbringer), Warrior (Garrosh Hellscream), Druid (Malfurion Stormrage), Hunter (Rexxar), Rogue (Valeera Sanguinar), and Shaman (Thrall).

Although Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is not yet available in the US on tablet devices I hope you enjoyed this close look video on what the game has to offer when it arrives.
