Google Fresh Out of Glass, Explorer Program Now Closed

Google gave consumers a chance to try (or rather, buy) its wearable computer with its Explorer Program. Anybody who signed up for the Explorer Program on Tuesday had the option of buying Google Glass for $1,500.

The sale was apparently a smash hit, as Google is now fresh out of Google Glass. The Google Glass Explorer web page now reads: 'That's all, folks.

'We're out of spots in the Explorer Program for now, but may have more to share soon. Sign up below to stay updated.

'To discover new places, sometimes we need to leave the map behind. And that's what Glass Explorers do. They are the first to make, to tinker, to create, to shape, and to share through Glass. We're expanding little by little, and experimenting with different ways of bringing new Explorers into the program.'

The sign up form is still open for anyone interested to fill out. Unfortunately, because of the giant one-off sale, it might be some time before Google opens up the Explorer program. Google has yet to reveal any figures about how many pairs of Google Glass it managed to sell during the one-day sale.
