Android 4.4 KitKat promised for more Motorola phones released in 2012

Motorola excitedly announced today that it has already begun the process of updating the Moto X to Android 4.4 KitKat on Verizon Wireless, and more carrier versions of the phone can expect an update soon. Now, the company has upgraded the status of more devices released last year that will be updated.


When Android 4.4 KitKat was announced, Motorola promised that it would address the fate of the RAZR HD, RAZR MAXX HD, and RAZR M in a future update. The Motorola update site has changed those phones status to state they will definitely be upgraded to KitKat. A promise was also made to upgrade the AT&T ATRIX HD, though the Sprint Photo Q 4G is still waiting with a 'Future plan coming soon,' sign.


At the moment, only the following smartphones have been confirmed to eventually receive Android 4.4 KitKat at some point in the future:


- Moto X - Moto G- DROID Ultra- DROID MAXX- DROID Mini- DROID RAZR HD- DROID RAZR MAXX HD- DROID RAZR M- ATRIX HD
